The Bad Batch

I watched it. I watched all of it. It's long. Very long. But now I have a different view of Clones. I have a different view of them as people, not machines, not "good soldiers". Clone Force 99 is definitely unique, and yes, they are "defective", but that's what makes them unique. Granted, they lose members, and it's sad, but the core people stay together. Omega is really cool for a kid, and she has to grow up and learn her weapon quickly. Hunter is their leader and he has to make the call as he sees it. Tech is just oblivious when someone gives him a compliment, but he learns. Wrecker is pretty funny in a child-like way. He gets along very well with Omega. Crosshair is our problem: he's a "good soldier" and that, in his end, is the problem. He's a good shot, dead center, you might say, but 99 is his family. Echo leaves and comes back, as 99 is his family. The series doesn't really "end" - it leaves room for more adventure

Ticket to Paradise

It's cute. It's a George Clooney/Julia Roberts flick. Two parents love their daughter. Their daughter graduates pre-law, they're expecting so much from her future as an attorney, the daughter and best friend go to Bali, and now "Mom and Dad - guess what? I'm getting married!" Parents will be parents - thinking they know what's best for their daughter. And I wish I had seen more of that in this film. More plans to make them stop and think, more plans to foil the wedding - just, "more". The performances were good, even with the groom's family from Bali. The son is a lot smarter than the parents think and that's a good thing. I'm on the side of the parents: a little more time to know the love of your life before you leave everything and get married. But, this film has beautiful scenery, a small snake and some surprises. The soundtrack is pretty good, too. It's an average film, but not too bad.

Dashing Through the Snow

You know, I kept seeing the commercials for this movie and thought "I do like Luda. I should check this out." And I'm glad I did. Ludacris plays a guy that has a daughter and is still in love with his daughter's mother. Not sure if they ever got married or what that situation was, but there are feelings there. And Luda does not do Christmas. He had a moment in his childhood that ruined it for him for life, and now he has a daughter that loves Christmas, but Luda is just a Grinch about it. So what happens? Luda's character meets a Santa Claus. Stuck in a chimney, no less, but still. And they bond and the daughter meets Santa Claus, named Nick, and the crew has to run from a local politician that wants their ipad back. The ipad has info on it that could send the politician to jail. So what's a guy ta do? It was very funny, a lot of action and the ending was very tender to the heart strings.

Blue Beetle

I'm so grateful the Spanish I class I took twice as an adult. I'm so glad of the words that I do remember, because it made this experience so much better for me. The Blue Beetle surrounds itself around a boy, a man, who graduates from pre-law and comes back to his family, and discovers all kinds of problems. And he wants to help: he wants to work, he wants to be successful and he wants his family to be proud of him. And then he runs into a girl: the niece of a very powerful woman. And he will do anything to help her. This causes him a lot of problems, painful and confusing problems. An Artifact that she wants him to hide becomes attached to him. And it's a very powerful artifact, in the shape of a blue beetle. This is total Spanish/English in this entire movie and I learned so much in this. The Grandmama is my husband's favorite character: she's feisty! And there is a budding romance, so that's kinda cute, too. And the villain, cause, you know how I am about my
