Evita

Not too bad. This was my first time watching this and I had no real idea about the movie other than Madonna was in it and it was based on actual history. Madonna played a young lady very well and an even better older lady! She had poise, she looked great and she sang amazingly! Antonio Banderas as the narrator was wonderfully placed. The songs in this film told the story in a nice flowing way. This was well done. I can't wait to see the musical!

Zack Snyder's Justice League

Wow. And Wow. Like, totally, yes. I enjoyed the first movie that I saw in the theater, but this? Wow! Even my husband enjoyed it a lot more. Yes, it was 4 hours long and yes, had to stop for pee breaks and dessert, but wow. It was more intense for me, a lot of opera music in the background, angelic music, setting some scenes more than others, and just a better feel to it. It was just...wow. I enjoyed it so very, very much. And I'm a Batman fan. I enjoyed everyone working together and putting their strengths to the objective. And the sacrifices. I really, really liked seeing those. I look forward to owning this one on DVD.

The Man From U.N.C.L.E.

I didn't care for the movie. I watched the whole thing and I'm not impressed. I was hoping something on the scope of Bond or maybe Mission Impossible, but no. Two agents, American and Russian, and an East Russian woman who ruins so many things for both of them. I liked the German, as it tested my ear on my language skills, but plot-wise...naw. I'm not thrilled with it.

The Descendants 2

You know what? Not too shabby! The continuing story of Mal and Ben and all their friends. And the audience is introduced to new peeps. New evils. New friends. New loves. And new squeeeee. I really enjoyed the music, especially "W-I-C-K-E-D" and there was another song in the movie that was really, really good. The sword fighting was well rehearsed. Even sat next to my husband, the fencer, as he watched them dance. And dancing in water. I could only put myself in the place of the stage manager for that scene and I just....sighed and tried to get my ASMs ready for clean up.  Good lessons to learn in this one, though: say "I love you" when you feel it and always be accepted for who you really are. Good lessons. And I do like Ben. He tries to do the right thing, he really does. And the dog - yeah, the dog needs to behave.  All in all, good movie. Can't wait to see the 3rd installment.

Coming 2 America

OMG that was funny. It was just stupid funny. Arsenio and Eddie are just completely stupid together! The premise of the movie was cute: the eldest daughter wants to rule, is able to rule, but the law is that a male heir must. And Eddie's character has a male heir back in Queens, NY. But the son falls for someone and that will complicate the motives that Eddie's character has for his son. I like that the eldest girl for Eddie's character and Lisa is a strong woman in her own right and has proven herself a true and wise leader by demonstrating it, not by just being "female." This movie doesn't just "hand over the right to a woman because that's what needs to happen these days", you see the progression in the movie that she earns that right. I wished that Wesley Snipes' character was meaner. He came into the movie a badass but....by the end he wasn't. I wanted him fierce. I wanted him the villain. I wanted him to cause war. But no. And his

Tom and Jerry: The Movie

As an animated feature, it wasn't bad. The animation was really good and the mix with live action worked well. I still don't like Jerry. He causes all kinds of problems from the very beginning, and to his defense, he's just looking for a place to live. I get it. But still... The real actors were faces I definitely recognized:  Chloë Grace Moretz  I've seen in some movies,  Michael Peña  who was hysterical in "Ant-Man" and Ken Jeong, who I've seen in some stuff. I was impressed with  Jordan Bolger  who I immediately saw as the movie's love interest for Chloe's character. And  Patsy Ferran  I just wanted to put her away every time she spoke. Her character was THAT annoying. But altogether, the storyline wasn't bad. I didn't really care for Tom and Jerry a lot in my youth, but I did watch most of their Saturday morning cartoons. I'd definitely tell fans of Tom and Jerry to see it and make their own impressions.
