Movies, Film and My Opinion

 This is one of my baby sister's favorite movies of all time so I had to check this out. Lots of recognizable faces: Paul Rudd, Alicia Silverstone, Brittany Murphy, Donald Faison and Wallace Shawn. So Cher has a teenage life. A rich teenage life. And her dad makes sure that she wants for nothing but there are rules and consequences for her actions. Cher, herself, starts helping people or saving them because they don't know any better. But in this story, she tries to save her friend, Tai, but Tai is really doing well on her own. And the entire time, Cher is missing out on having someone in her life to love. She has some very interesting moments with her bestie, Dionne, and it just reminds me of similar, but less flush with money ways, we had to deal with things in high school. Cher really is kinda clueless about basic things in life but she's slowing learning and slowly getting into her own way. It's a cute movie, and the small thing of drug interaction did lose me a bit

 So, I finished the first season of "Andor". As a Star Wars fan from back in the day, I thought I'd check it out. The stand-out performances are not really of the character Andor, played by Diego Luna. My first outstanding character was Kino Loy, played by Andy Serkis. Wonderful actor, who also does voice over. His character was so intense and he was all about being the Papa Bear in the prison. Second was Dedra Meero, played by Denise Gough. She's an imperial and she wants to do her job and proof statistics and logic. She's determined, but she needs to be careful or she's gonna get herself killed. Fiona Shaw was excellent as well, playing Andor's adoptive mom, Maarva Andor. Potter fans recognize her as Aunt Petunia but here, she's a feisty and determined secret Rebel leader. This series was slow for me. It didn't get going until later on in the season. But over-all, the wonderful performances couldn't save the writing. I didn't even want &q

 I was actually delighted to see this movie. It's one of my husband's favorite movies of all time. This 1988 movie stars George Burns as Jack Watson, as an old rich man who wishes to be 18 again. He wakes up in the body of his grandson, David Watson, played perfectly by Charlie Schlatter. Unfortunately, David switched bodies with his grandfather and is in the hospital after a car crash. David will die in Jack's body unless they do something about it. In the meantime, Jack as David goes around and enjoys life and runs track and rights the wrongs that have been done to David. The actor, Charlie, must have watched and memorized George Burns' moves to a "T"! He mimicked him so well in this movie it was just astounding! Well done to that young man for his dedication! Also in this movie is Anita Morris as Madeline, Jack's play-thing. She's there for the money and if Jack dies, she gets quite a bit. Also we see Jennifer Runyon, who I've seen in other film

 I enjoyed this so much. The music is very modern and hip-hoppy and rappy and all that, but the characters and the meat of their lives was a treat. Cinderella and her prince have a daughter (and I guess a son also?) and the daughter adores her parents. And the Queen of Hearts has a daughter who causes mischief and rebellion against her mother's wishes. All these characters meet up when there's a new principal at the high school and the Queen of Hearts, who has held a grudge all this time, takes over. Red has a time turner (dunno what else to call it - I'm an HP fan) and goes back to when her mom was her age and Cinderella was their age. They must change the future or Cinderella will lose her head. How will they change the past? And they're running out of time to do it. So many different stories are melded here and new friendships are made. I really enjoyed it. This movie was good entertainment.
