The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas

I finally saw this movie. I know one song from it, but now I know them all. My opinion? They should have just let the house be. Ms. Mona was running a business, an institution, the girls were a family, they were getting paid, and they had shelter and food and a mom(two, really) figure. Mona loved the sheriff, played very well by Burt Reynolds. Burt's character had anger issues, and this is a lesson for everyone: anger issues will get you in hot water eventually. It was good to see Burt back with Dom Deluise. Those two are so stupid together it's hilarious. Dom's character should have left well enough alone. He was after the fame, the fortune, the popularity. And there were so many ways Ed Earl could have framed Melvin P. Thorpe. The movie could have turned that way. I did not know that the Broadway musical came first and then the movie. So I learned something new. And my husband loves the music. All of it. Especially Charles Durning as the Governor singing about a little &

Minions 4

It was so good to laugh again. This movie was just so silly! We meet up with Gru and the family and the new addition and a new foe: a former classmate who has a grudge on Gru! Something petty, too! And he's out to steal from Gru the one thing he loves so much! Gru and the family have to fight to get it back. Then there's the next door neighbors - and their daughter. Talk about evil!! In the meantime, the Minions are in training, especially 5 of them, and we have a new team to cheer on. Granted, they are not the BEST team to send out into the world, but, they have good hearts. This movie was so entertaining and so funny. The one-liners from both the humans and the minions are just classic. Over-all, though, the feel of Harry Potter is in this movie. It's not quite a mockery, but the elements are there. I'd recommend this to people who haven't seen any of the former Gru and Minion movies. This can stand on its own.
