Elvis

I really, really enjoyed this film. And the actor, Austin Butler, is a cutie! He's so easy on the eyes anyways. He did a really good portrayal of the King. If a lot of this film is based on fact, I had no idea how much the King didn't really care about the skin color of those he cared about. He was on the side of the blacks during a time in the U.S. that everything was turbulent and about to change. He was supportive in his own way. And after the death of his mother, he was self destructive. I didn't know that his dad out-lived him and his mother. But he loved his daughter dearly. Loved her so very much. But he should have been managed better. Tom Hanks did a great job as Colonel Tom Parker. Meant well, but really, no, very conniving. I didn't care for the modern rap song near the beginning of the film. Elvis had so many songs, some hits, some not, that they could have used for that montage. Even in the credits, why go modern? Why not use what was? And when the blacks sang, there were songs like that back then that they could have used. The modern music started to kill the mood for me, but thank God for the actors. Very good talent in Richard Roxburgh as Elvis' dad. The emotion was just real. This was just well-played, over-all, about the King's life and the hard road he took. This movie is worth a second viewing.
