Shazam: Fury of the Gods

ok, I will see this one again! This was a fun ride from start to end! A family, a growing family, a family that is about to go their separate ways, has to save the city. And maybe save the world. So much humor and love and surprises in this movie. It's an amazing fun ride totally. I just want to see more of all of them. Every character in this movie, super hero or villain, has a story. Has a purpose. And every single one is quick-witted, too. And there's a love interest for one of the kids and it's so funny to see him stumble over himself for her. It's just...so weird and wonderful! This is a must-see film for anyone who is feeling down for whatever reason. This movie will lift your spirits and give you hope. And maybe make you shed a tear for the underdog.

Elvis

I really, really enjoyed this film. And the actor, Austin Butler, is a cutie! He's so easy on the eyes anyways. He did a really good portrayal of the King. If a lot of this film is based on fact, I had no idea how much the King didn't really care about the skin color of those he cared about. He was on the side of the blacks during a time in the U.S. that everything was turbulent and about to change. He was supportive in his own way. And after the death of his mother, he was self destructive. I didn't know that his dad out-lived him and his mother. But he loved his daughter dearly. Loved her so very much. But he should have been managed better. Tom Hanks did a great job as Colonel Tom Parker. Meant well, but really, no, very conniving. I didn't care for the modern rap song near the beginning of the film. Elvis had so many songs, some hits, some not, that they could have used for that montage. Even in the credits, why go modern? Why not use what was? And when the blacks

Everything Everywhere All At Once

Not my kind of movie. I don't mind the subtitles, I don't mind the star power, I don't mind the violence - to me this movie was very "trippy." I guess I'm the kind of person who enjoys a movie with a plot. Abstract doesn't grab me. The mother and daughter are distant and need to get their relationship back together, especially now that the daughter has a girlfriend of her own and is moving forward into a new kind of love relationship. The mother's dad doesn't get a lot of what's going on around him and the husband wants a divorce. But that's just in one dimension. There are other dimensions where the woman is a movie star, a theater actress, a martial arts master, and then she snaps back to the now with the IRS. So much going on and I just...I don't see the actual point. Not even in the ending. I'm sure it will win a lot of awards during the Oscars, but it's just not my kind of movie.
