Red One

I'm a little different than my friends and associates: I like my Christmas movies with some action. I like the running, the jumping, the falling out of trees. I like the gun shots and the death and the rescues and the love of family in the end. I like car races and jumping off buildings and saving the world. This is the kind of movie I like. "Red One" is the kind of Christmas movie I like. Dwayne Johnson plays Callum, a bodyguard/security guard for Santa Claus who comes to retirement, but before he can get his foot out the door, Santa is kidnapped by a powerful witch. What is he gonna do now? How does he find him? What will the world do? It's Christmas Eve and Santa has a big job ahead of him. Zoe, played by Lucy Liu, assists him by finding the man who helped the witch break into the North Pole to kidnap Santa. This man is a pro at getting information, pick-pocketing people and being on the naughty list. Chris Evans plays this man, Jack, who thinks of nothing but him...

Twisters

I really enjoyed this movie. I still like the first one better, but I really enjoyed this movie. I know that tornadoes are no joke and the damage from their powerful winds are at the same time marvelous and horrifying, this movie had so many visual train wrecks that I couldn't look away. Human beings that freak out in situations get killed. Or carried away, in this case. The main lady, Kate, loses most of her team in the beginning of the movie and it haunts her the entire movie. She loses the "gusto" that she had in her early carrier when studying tornadoes and finding ways to make humans safer by getting more knowledge about the dangerous weather. She meets Tyler who is an internet sensation and Kate can't stand that. No science, all pretty face and popularity. To her, he's selfish and she wants to help all people. For him, she's big city and doesn't care about the small towns while he gives food to the poor off camera. The chasing of tornadoes, the scie...

Transformers One

I totally enjoyed this movie! I really did! I enjoyed the voice-over work, the animation, the story, the back-story, all of it. Two miners, best friends, look out for each other all the time. And then one of them wants something more, and the other one thinks he's crazy but goes along with it. And they get publicity. And then they get sentenced to silence. And they escape. And they discover stuff. And they are offered a second chance with their new bodies, new powers, the power to transform. And they discover that their leader isn't telling the truth about everything. One friend takes it very badly, the other wants everyone else to know. The battles are intense and the deaths are just....raw! Mad props to Chris Hemsworth, Brian Tyree Henry, Scarlett Johansson and Keegan Michael Key! I'm totally impressed with the feeling and intensity they put in the film. I'd like to see a follow-up film!
