Puss in Boots: The Last Wish

This was a really good film. I enjoy Puss in Boots anyways, you know, marvelous cat and all, but him and Kitty and the Perrito...yeah, this works for me. I love that he has an adversary that he can't possibly win against - or can he? It's a battle the entire film and the wish is the answer. But is it really? He's gotta make decisions along his adventure and I love how friendship is the lesson and the key for this movie. Well done on the VO actors in this movie. Especially Jack and the bears. Great job all around!

A Hollywood Christmas

I did not expect this movie at all and just ran across it HBO Max. And it was a pleasant surprise! And I didn't focus on the Asian female lead or the Caucasian male lead or the black male talent or any of that - I focused on the storytelling. It was storytelling. A good story, with a heart-felt twist. This woman, Jessica,  loves to make movies, and Christmas movies at that. Her past makes her love what she does. And then the network sends an attorney, Christopher, to shut her down. Not happening! And Jessica does what it takes to make sure her movie gets made, one last time. But so much opens up with Christopher and Jessica and even with Ashley and Zak, the two leads in the film. Magic is on the set, the entire lot even! But the ending is very sweet, and this is a must-see for the holidays!

A Christmas Story Christmas

So, yeah, my husband and I didn't have a lot of hope for this movie, but I was curious. And I'm glad I watched it. Every year "A Christmas Story" plays FOREVER on a station or two on tv. Everyone knows the movie. But this - this one was for the grown-ups. This movie was for those of us who have our families, have our lives, have to work, have to own up to "adulting" - but have never forgotten the lessons of being young. This was a fun movie. This was a movie for our time. And the friends that Ralphie made never leave his side. And his kids learn their own lessons. But it's heart-warming, all around, especially about Ralphie's dad. I'd definitely say this movie is a must -see, even if you just have it in the background while cleaning the house.
