Freaky Friday (2003)
You know - I had no idea Mark Harman was in this one. And I like him as an actor: he's pretty good! That was a pleasant surprise within 10 minutes of the movie. And Jamie Lee Curtis loves a challenge. As an actress she loves to play out of her age range and she does it well. I have also learned not to cross an older Chinese woman, just like I already knew not to cross an older Haitian woman. VooDoo is called different things in different places - and these women know their craft! A mother and daughter get into an argument in a Chinese food restaurant and the mother of the restaurant owners decides to intervene with fortune cookies. These cookies change the mother and daughter for a day, or until they do something selfless. The timing is horrific as the daughter, Anna, played by Lindsay Lohan, has a major gig audition on the same night as the wedding rehearsal for her mom, Tess, played by Jamie Lee Curtis. And Tess has a surprise on-air interview with a TV show on that same Friday....
