K-Pop Demon Hunters

I did not think I'd like this as much as I do. And yes, I will be watching this again. The animation is clean and clear, and expressive, and at times terrifying and the voice overs are amazingly dreamy. Rumi, Mira and Zoey are demon hunters and pop stars. They have the power to protect their fans and their fans give them their power. There is an entity demon named Gwi-Ma that sends demons from time to time to gain souls and he's not doing the best job. Until Jinu shows up with an idea: demon Boy Band. The demon boy band will take the souls of the fans, and then Gwi-Ma can feast. But the Huntr/x ladies will fight them. But how? The boy band named the Saja Boys, are just too gorgeous and adorable. And Jinu knows Rumi has a secret. And that secret could ruin her life. What can she do? Can she trust Rumi? Can she trust Mira and Zoey with her secret? Over-all this was a really cool movie and I totally loved their manager Bobby. He is so on their side. This is definitely worth the r...

Thunderbolt and Lightfoot

Wow. I just....this movie was very 70s for me. I see the draw to the movie with stars like Clint Eastwood, Jeff Bridges, Geoffrey Lewis and George Kennedy. Clint was Thunderbolt and Jeff was Lightfoot. Thunderbolt is hunted at the beginning of the movie as he stood in a church. And he ran. Ran right into Lightfoot. They go through some crazy adventures and end up with the hunter and his friend and a crazy idea to plan a heist. But will the police catch up with them? Will they honor their pact with each other? There's a good bit of death in this movie and I take it the 70s and 80s had this thing with women's breasts. Didn't add to the story but it was just there. I'm sure it's claimed as a classic because of the stars, but I think one viewing is enough for me.

Hit Pig

Ok, this - this was unexpectedly good. A pig loses his best friend to a crocodile and then spends the rest of his days working to find stolen animals or escaped animals and return them to their owners. His nemesis is a woman named Leticia who rescues animals from captivity. She does it for the love of the animals: he does it for money. One day, a man named Leapin' Lord contracts Hit Pig to find his elephant, Pickles. And the adventure begins. So many adventures from the U.S. to Australia to the UK! Great animation in this and the voices are pretty good. So is the music. Jason Sudeikis voices Hit Pig, RuPaul voices Polecat and Flavor Flav voices the Chef MC. I wasn't totally impressed with Pickles, as I thought this was just another character that is so annoyingly innocent about the world that she just causes all kinds of problems, but in the end she gathers so many good friends/characters that the new team just makes the movie. The main villain, Leapin' Lord, is in and of...

How to Train Your Dragon (2025)

It wasn't bad. It wasn't horrible. It's just that I like the original cartoon better. I do like Mason Thames as Hiccup. Almost word for word from the animated feature. He's got the look and mannerisms down so it wasn't bad. I don't like Nico Parker for Astrid. Granted, she did have blonde braids in her hair, but she was too thin for me. She was very acrobatic for the character but she wasn't tough enough for me. Not for that character. Gerard Butler as Stoick wasn't too bad, I was expecting something with a bit more girth for the character, but he wasn't bad. Again, almost word for word from the animated feature. I did love Nick Frost as Gobber the Belch. He was straight forward, he was funny and he was tenacious. Nick portrayed him very well and such a delight to watch. Julian Dennison tagged Fishlegs so well, I just couldn't separate him at all from the animated character. Perfect! And just too funny! The CGI for this film wasn't too bad. ...
