The Day the Earth Blew Up

My husband picked up this DVD because he was talking about wanting to see this movie for so long. I'm glad we sat and watched it. So, Daffy and Porky were raised together with Farmer Jim. When Farmer Jim passed on, he gave his house and the farm to Porky and Daffy. Oddly enough, somehow in the cartoon, the farm turned into a regular house in a neighborhood. But the house is damaged by a meteor and the city tells them they must repair it or lose the house. So Daffy and Porky must find jobs. And they do and they fail. Finally, they meet Petunia Pig, who Porky falls for. And Petunia is a scientist at a bubble gum factory. So she tells them they are hiring and Porky and Daffy finally get good jobs. In all this, a head scientist is abducted by an alien who wants to take over the world with bubble gum. So can Daffy and Porky save the world? Will Petunia finally find the flavor of bubble gum that will impress her superiors? This movie had a plot and it was really a lot of fun. The alien ...

The Sign of Zorro

How cute was this movie?! Don Diego de la Vega comes back home to California to see his father and finds his town is being run by a tyrannical man named Capitan Monastario. His man officer, Sgt Raul Garcia, is the funniest character. He cares for the people of the town but he has to follow his capitan's orders. He is the true comic relief for this movie. Don Diego decides to protect the town as Zorro, the fox. He enlists the aid of his companion, Bernado, who, btw, is the BEST companion in my opinion next to Alfred for Bruce Wayne. Capitan Monastario tries so many things to get this Zorro character, because Zorro keeps showing up to foil his plans to terrorize the town. He even captures Don Diego and wants to expose him as Zorro. What is he going to do? Who can come to his aid now? It's such a great movie and my husband said the tv show is just as good.

White Chicks

That was funny. I didn't think that would be as funny as it was. It started off pretty stupid funny with the under cover getting the delivery of ice cream. But when Marlon Wayans and Shawn Wayans went under cover as the Wilson sisters...that was just it. My husband was laughing so hard on the sofa and I almost lost my dinner watching this movie. Two FBI agents have to go under cover to stop a possible kidnapping of two very wealthy and high-society daughters. It's just crazy that the best friends of the Wilson girls, Lisa, Karen and Tori, couldn't tell that Tiffany and Brittany looked a little off. And taller. The plastic on the faces and the clothes and the heels and the wigs. I was so amazed the wigs didn't come off on the dance floor! And Gina, Marcus Copeland's wife - she really just blew everything out of proportion. Talking about communication and yet, she would just jump to conclusions and her insecurity led her to believe that her husband was cheating on he...

Sudden Impact

This was hard to watch. I don't do well with rape scenes in TV and movies. But this woman went after them all. She went after all the people, shot them in the nuts, then shot them in the head. Sounds like justice to me. But according to the law, she needs to bring them to justice so they can rot in jail. Now, here comes Harry Callahan. And everywhere he goes, even on vacation, there is a murder case. And the chief of police in that town doesn't want his help, but he's gonna get it. Harry involves himself and now people are after him too. Glad he has friends like Horace King and the deputy in the new town, Those two were on his side. And best of all, when Harry gets to his hotel room for his vacation, the police force from San Francisco granted him a dog. A very good dog. Warns him of things and even jogs with him. This was intense movie. Very 80s, of course, with the shots and the music and all, but yes, Dirty Harry is older but still goes out with a gun and shoots first a...
