Loving

This was a short film about interracial marriage in Virginia. Mr. Loving was white, Mrs. Loving was black. And the law was enforced after they got married in D.C. and moved back to Virginia, that if they were found in the state of Virginia again, together, they would be arrested and jailed for 25 years. An attorney out of D.C. wanted to take their case all the way to the Supreme Court in the 1960s. And he did, and they won. But this film showed what happened to them, before, during and after their marriage. And kids. And just....everything. It was easier to watch than the movie "The Pianist", which was very hard to watch with the prejudice. This was blatant prejudice but easier to watch. This is good history about the first legal interracial marriage in the U.S.

Turning Red

OMG Go Pixar! And Disney. This was a really, really good movie! It's just too cute! A 13 year old, her cool friends, her over-protective mother - just yes! And a Red Panda! Too cute! Seriously! And a possible villain. Or two. So that really made me happy. But the story was just nice! It's Mei Mei's story. And what she goes through as a 13 year old. And her life as an independent and her life and responsibilities to her family. Times change, and change mixed with the past makes her future. The movie was well-done and the music is amazingly good! And it was interesting to see that Billie Eilish was one of the main people to help with the music. I gotta recommend this one to my nieces!
