Wicked: For Good

It wasn't bad. It wasn't as good as the first movie, but it wasn't bad. Elphaba is in rare form and fantastic as she flies around with her agenda: to free the animals who could have spoken and give them freedom. They need to be back in Oz society. But she's the evil one. She is the one the people are against. But really, she's not. And she has allies. Cynthia Erivo has a wonderful voice, a very straight Alto voice, but she's not spectacular. She's good. And her acting skills are top notch. It's just that in my past theater experience, I have witnessed women with better voices for that role. But Cynthia is believable as Elphaba. And her love for Glinda as her best friend/sister in life is also believable. I believed their love. I believed the sisterhood that they had. And Ariana Grande proves a very self-absorbed and emotionally torn Glinda. And Elphaba is not the bad one here: the Wizard needs to prove himself a good guy, a guy doing the right thing f...

The Bad Guys 2

I really liked this movie. Not as much as the first one, but yeah, I enjoyed it. Mostly because what I thought was going to happen, didn't. Lots of plot twists. These guys can not catch a break! Like ever. But they want to protect their friend, Snake. Snake is in love with a bird and this could not be the best thing in the world for him. And the friends all think Snake is involved in Bad things. Stolen things. Cause he's good at it. And what if the bird friend is in on it? What will they do? Plus they have the Commissioner on their tails about all the robberies going on. They promise the Commissioner that they'd help. But it just gets them into trouble. Will Governor Diane Foxington, played by Zazie Beetz, help them out? What if there are others involved? Will they be able to make the world believe they're good instead of bad? I love the animation and I love the voices, especially Awkwafina ( I totally wanna talk to her agent). Definitely worth a 2nd viewing.

The Gambler: Part 3, The Legend Continues

Out of all the Gambler movies, I just didn't care for this one. No poker playing, no real gambling other than with each other's lives and the lives of people...it just didn't have that "gambler" feeling to it. Brady and Billy meet up with Buffalo Bill, played by Jeffrey Jones and travel a little bit to find Brady's friend, Chief Sitting Bull, played by George American Horse. But tensions are high between the American soldiers, the Senator Henry Colton played by Charles Durning and lots of lovely ladies in the wild west who share secrets and spread the news of the government buying up Indian land and giving the Native America tribes a bad deal. And there's murder. Don't forget - there's murder. Granted, Kenny Rogers and Bruce Boxleitner are in almost every scene and things get so deep with the plot, but it's just not a Western feel for me. I'll just have to not recommend this one out.

The Gambler: The Adventure Continues

This movie had to do with a different kind of gambling: on people On lives. Poor Brady Hawkes loses his so to an evil man named Charlie. Charlie and his gang hold up a train and a rich man, Stowbridge, was supposed to have money on that train. He didn't. And Charlie and his gang snatch poor Jeremiah and hold onto him until the train makes it to its destination, and a bank, where Stowbridge must hand money over to the gang in order to let Jeremiah live. Brady's not having it. Him and Billy get their own gang together and that includes the beautiful and sly Kate Muldoon. It was so good to see Linda Evans as a tough ol' broad in this movie. I'm so used to seeing her as a beautiful and intelligent woman who marries Blake Carrington on "Dynasty". Altogether they ride and fight and try to figure out a way to get Jeremiah out of Charlie's clutches. It's a good western. I think Kenny Rogers did pretty good with this series.

The Coward of the County (1981)

This movie definitely follows the story of the song, and I love the song. Kenny Rogers plays a preacher who preaches God in the morning, and "other vices" in the afternoon. His nephew is Tommy and the preacher looks after Tommy and his mom. Tommy falls in love with Becky. Becky and Paul were together, but Becky broke up with Paul before he went into the military. Becky and Tommy got to know each other and it's very evident that Becky is into Tommy. But Paul's brothers are still in town, still calling Tommy a coward, a chicken, a yellow-bellied scoundrel. The one scene I couldn't deal with was when the "Gaitlin boys came callin'". It was hard to watch. Tommy was no where around and there they come, Paul and his brothers, and no one was at Becky's house but Becky and her wedding dress. The ending was just as the song, fortunately, and it'd be interesting for Becky and Tommy to get a future out of that town and the preacher to claim his human w...

The Gambler (1980)

I got to see this movie on DVD, but I've loved the song all my life. I'm pretty sure it's one of the first songs I've ever memorized, as my mother loved Kenny Rogers so much. This movie doesn't follow the song exactly, but it tells of many gamblers, mainly Billy Montana, played by Scarecrow and Mrs. King star Bruce Boxleitner and of course, Brady Hawkes played by Kenny Rogers. Billy is young and plays poker anywhere he can, until he plays Brady. Brady wipes him out and teaches him a lesson. On the other side of things, Brady has a young son named Jeremiah, played by Ronnie Scribner. Jeremiah and his ma stay with a mean man named Rufe Bennett played by Clu Galager. Also mixed up on a train ride to find Rufe, Brady plays a card game with Doc Palmer, played by Lance LeGault. He is my favorite character. He's an honest gambler and when someone wins fair and square, he calls it honorably. His backer is Arthur Stobridge, played by Harold Gould, who thinks he can buy ...

Elio

This really wasn't a bad movie. I didn't know what to expect from Pixar, but this movie caught my attention within 10 minutes and kept it. Elio lost his parents and his Aunt (which might not be his Aunt?) takes care of him. She's totally lost as to how to take care of a child as she is a career-minded woman who dreams of going into the astronaut program. She's close, but now she has responsibilities. And here is Elio - fascinated with space and exploration. And even sends a message out to the universe that Aliens will come and take him away. He gets his wish and is taken away to the Communiverse where they mistaken him for the Leader of Ah-Earth. The challenge: to find a compromise with Lord Grigon so that he doesn't take the Communiverse by force. In all of this, he befriends Lord Grigon's son, Glordon. Will Elio complete a deal to save the Communiverse? Will the ambassadors figure out that Elio is not the Leader of Ah-Earth? Will Elio make it back home or will...
